A while back I started a recommendation thread for anime, And I've decided to continue this fool-hearty exercise in futility to justify my position as WaBuF's local anime expert. Ask for further information if necessary.

I) MegaZone 23 Trilogy- Fans of Robotech would likely fall in love with this OVA trilogy made in-pt 1 1985, pt2 1989, pt3 1992. featuring motorcycles transforming into mecha, A mature storyline years ahead of its time, and the best anime example of the 1980's you'll ever see! -Currently in-print by ADV.

2) The Slayers TV Series- Fans of fantasy and RPG's will likely find this fantasy parody hilarious, featuring references to various games and fantasy stories, I usually go's for laughs more than drama but does have its own share of serious moments. -first three seasons re-released in 1 box set by Funimation Ent. fourth season due april.

That MegaZone 23 Trilogy sounds great! I'll have to see what I can find, video-wise. If I do find something and like it, you'll probably find it in the Underground.
I'll probably have to make an Anime section for the Underground, as well.

It is great, when you watch it you'll realize the matrix totally ripped it off storywise! pt 2 has 2 English dubs, A terrible Japanese made one and A recent ADV made one, if your gonna do dubs I recommend the adv dub, and if you do subs be careful, there are some terrible subbers out there. especially with old stuff like this.

EDIT: I also should mention that pt3 is actually 2 separate episodes in itself. Rather than a 2 hour movie like the first 2 pt's

Thanks, this will really help when I go to look for it. Older anime video can be one of the hardest things to find. Especially when the result I seek is so specific.

Well heck yes. You should have said you owned it phhh!
You could rip it and upload it to our server through attachments (I would have make some temporary changes for the enormous upload).

EDIT: If you upload the raw files off the DVD, I'll be able to convert and compress them so they can stream in the Underground.

Alright new one!

3) Full Metal Panic! Novel/Manga/Anime Series- Mecha fans rejoice! With what I believe to be one of the greatest mecha anime released since Nadesco and like nadesco this is also a romantic comedy. Unlike nadesco however it uses a high school setting for much of the comedy and drama. It has some great mecha designs, and an intriguing storyline taking place in an alternate universe where mecha were developed under the reagan administration and the cold war lasts to the 2000's. fans of Gundam and nadesco will love this series!

Anime- Full Metal Panic! 2002, Full Metal Panic?:FUMUFU 2003[spinoff], Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid! 2005 all available from Funimation on DVD and soon on Bluray!
