I'm usually cheap with laptops but this last one is too expensive to repair (HP said $300 to look and repair it + shipping costs). So instead of spending $300 on a laptop I paid $500 for, I figure just get a whole new one instead. Feel free to post suggestions as I won't get a laptop at least until probably mid-may.

Everything's good on this--speed, memory, storage--except the screen resolution. My 32" TV that I use as a "big-screen" for my laptop (to watch movies) has that 1366x768 px resolution. I find it very restrictive on vertical space. My current 5 1/2 year old laptop has the same screen dimensions: 15.5, but a better vertical resolution: 1280x800 px. I know it's a small amount, but it really makes a humongous difference!
I know they have screens even smaller in dimension that are the larger 16:10 resolutions like 1440x900 and 1680x1050.
Sorry to dwell on screen resolution, but that's a pet peeve of mine. :p
EDIT: kind of unrelated, but I was looking around for something to boost my wireless on either my desktop or laptop--and yes, I have a wireless desktop :\
But I found this:

Haha pretty sci-fi-looking!

There's a 1920 x 1080 version of this laptop for like $70 more and I don't think resolution bothers me much.
I have a range extender from Hawking - works pretty well. That thing looks like it'd pick up a few extra feet on range.
