tropicaltans.net (http://tropicaltans.net)
I was asked by my sister's employer in Arlington, Tennessee (near Memphis) to revamp his website. He had it for several years through the Yahoo! SiteBuilder.
Let's just say it was worse than any I had ever seen before! So I read up on Yahoo! web hosting and found that they encrypt the files made in SiteBuilder to a made-up language called RTML. It's basically a horrendous disfigurement of the common-place HTML. Yahoo! also prohibited third-party FTP access, so no Dreamweaver. What I had to finally do, was make everything in TXT format and after upload, change the suffixes with code. I made a JavaScript that now does this in batch (which I'm finally getting the hang of :)).
Yahoo, not too unlike AOL; was forged in the raging fires of hell. (signature)
I also incorporated some new technology in the contact (http://tropicaltans.net/contact.html) page of the site under "Get Directions"; Which uses the new Google API Key that links me directly to their Geocoding Database! All you have to do is enter your address and click Go! It automatically plots point 'B' as their business address and plots yours to point 'A'.
I put my address in and the driving duration comes out to 11hr 56min!
They don't know this, but the example right underneath "Get Directions" is the address of the nearest Taco Bell in Cordova, TN... xD
