The long awaited movie based upon the much loved (In America) Manga and Anime series by mangaka Yasuhiro Nightow had finally Premiered the second of this month. in an interview seen here:http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interview/2010-04-22/satoshi-nishimura-director-of-trigun/badlands-rumble

The director explains that the American fans are the soul reason for the movies existence due mostly to the series not doing very well in japan. This is rather unprecedented, for an anime creative team to think of the US market when taking a risk like making a movie.

It is also believed an adaptation of the Trigun Maximum Manga will be possible if the movie is popular enough in the US.
As a fan of the Trigun series I hope that this eventually comes to pass, And that the movie gets a speedy US release.

Definitely! I've been a Trigun follower for years. That's just crazy how it would not be popular in Japan.. It's such a great story, such great animation; It has it all. I think whatever they decide to do will be a hit, they have a very strong following here in the US.

I don't think the Japanese like Nightows Western style of writing. He was heavily inspired by his beloved Marvel comics so he writes unlike any other Japanese Mangaka. The Anime tried to tone down the American influence but its still obvious.
Even the Mangas drawing style looks far more american than the Anime version.

This movie actually takes some of the Manga designs that weren't used in the anime(Mainly Meryl and Millie)

Heres hoping they get Johnny Yong Bosch to reprise his most famous role as Vash.
